Aims & Scope

The Proceedings of the International CALL Research Conference bring together scholarly contributions addressing current issues and developments in Computer-Assisted Language Learning (CALL). The International CALL Research Conferences promote CALL as a transdisciplinary field and contribute to the development and dissemination of CALL theory, while supporting the growth of the international CALL research community, particularly postgraduate and early-career researchers.

The conference welcomes interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary contributions drawing on perspectives from language education, pedagogy, technology, linguistics, psychology, and related fields. Each conference focuses on a specific theme selected by the Programme Committee. While the theme is typically specialized, it addresses a transversal issue that is relevant to CALL researchers and practitioners across diverse educational and cultural contexts.

The proceedings provide a scholarly record of research and discussion presented at the conference and reflect the conference's aims of inspiring language education in diverse contexts, building connections across cultures, and supporting colleagues working in challenging political and educational contexts.

The proceedings are published during the conference and made available to conference participants. Since 2022, the proceedings have been published as open-access publications, allowing the research presented at the conference to be accessed freely by the international CALL community.

Peer Review Process

All submissions to the conference proceedings undergo double-blind peer review before acceptance for publication. Submissions are evaluated by members of the Programme Committee and/or other reviewers with relevant expertise. The review considers the relevance of the submission to the conference theme, the quality and clarity of the research or scholarly contribution, the methodological or theoretical basis where applicable, and the overall suitability for inclusion in the proceedings.

The peer review process is conducted to maintain the academic quality and relevance of the proceedings. Authors may be asked to revise their submissions in response to reviewers' comments before final acceptance. Only submissions that have successfully completed the review and revision process are included in the published proceedings.
